What is ALP?

ALP is an enzyme that comes mainly from your bones and your liver's bile ducts. It reflects the everyday activity in both, and so moves along with bone renewal. A value within range goes together with healthy bones and smooth bile flow.

What moves this value?

ALP comes from two sources: your bones and your bile ducts. Together they make up the one value you see here.

This is mainly a marker to follow alongside your other liver and bone values.

The colour zones are personal: they depend on age, sex, risk and history, and appear in the patient's own report.

Insights to discuss with the patient, not a diagnostic instrument.
